Hello David K
I might be among the folks closest to where you are from.
I'm in the upper western corner of Chester County,  east of Morgantown,
in St. Peter's Village if you know that.
There are few of us in the vicinity that get together occasionally locally.
Sometimes we take a set of machines out to science fairs.
We'll apprise you of anything that might come up soon.
In the meantime, make plans to hit VCF East!
Regards-
Doug Crawford

My name is David K and I am more a fan of vintage computers than any sort
of expert.

I am in the health care field and currently teach at a college in Reading
PA.

I've been reading the daily digest for awhile and realize I am in over my
head and have very little to offer to the group. I get excited if I can
open an Apple disk drive, clean off the head, and get it back together.

Many of the topics discussed I have no familiarity with (ex. Unix).

But I love vintage computer and have more than a dozen in my basement. I
grew up with the Apple IIe - still my favorite - and have other popular
machines like the Atari 800XL, Vic 20, TI-99/4A, Apple IIgs, etc.

I would love to know more about these machines including how to make
repairs (I have an Apple IIc plus that has a stuck internal disk drive, a
Mac that will only boot to the image of the disk with a question mark, a
Commodore 64 with no sound) but lack the skills and typically do not feel
confident doing work based on videos or pages I see online.

I live about 2 hours from the museum but it sounds awesome and I will make
a pilgrimage there in the near future.

If there is anyone in the southeast part of PA (Berks, Lancaster counties,
etc.) who is interested in connecting feel free to email me.

I am excited to be part of the group.
