VCF will not go into that field. We * used to * take all kinds of stuff. Nowadays we are highly selective and sticking to real policies about what we'll take and not take.
Thanks to a lead on here or the CC list friends were working on getting access to the vintage stuff from one of the recyclers in Virginia Beach. Because of MAGFest, there was access to a 501c3 and warehouse space. It was pretty complex, lawyers involved and drafting garantees that none of the equipment that is "saved" from the melting pot will ever hit the trash can. It was going to be a pretty big undertaking and require quite a bit of maintenance from the human side because the warehouse space is mostly full of event related things, and is 4 hours from the recycling site (assuming no i95 traffic.) But at last someone with the recycler left the org and everything reset. So no idea where it stands now. I assume I'm like others with personal collections where I try to limit myself to certain types and space allotments, so from time to time I will give away stuff to friends or trade with people trying to complete collections or are coming into the hobby (not trying to flip stuff.) Meanwhile, I'm going to try to reach out to local recyclers but usually don't have much luck. - Ethan
