Actually, on a related note, there is a forum post on VCF Forums from months ago from VCF New England of someone looking for a CRT repair person in New England from around Boston or points north. To date, there was no response to that posting. So I was wondering, is there some kind of business directory for this? Someone like Chris Edwards for Amigas, but that services vintage CRT’s and are also located in the Northeastern US From: Jeff Salzman <jeff.salzman@vcfed.org> Sent: Sunday, June 8, 2025 7:48 AM To: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Cc: Hopkins, Justin <Justin.Hopkins@broadridge.com> Subject: Re: [vcf-midatlantic] Repair workshop June 8? That doesn't mean there aren't others in attendance who may have good CRT skills, but I'm not personally aware that the other attendees are or are not. I did see a few new faces, so there is a possibility some of them are good with CRT repair. But that's the cool thing about the Workshops. You can find a surprising array of knowledge and talent in this hobby. CRT component excluded, you may find others who could help you with the other circuitry in your 3153 terminal. It may be possible to "blindly" test the communications aspect of the device... talking to another terminal with the other connection responding to what you type. Maybe others who are attending the Workshop today will respond. If it is, is anyone going that is versed on old CRT's? I have an IBM 3153 that is completely dead, that I picked up today and I am wondering if it is salvageable.
