Neil, It sounds like you've got what I use as my primary reference in teaching networking, Comer. I do sometimes also use Tannenbaum's networking book as well. Over the pandemic, I shot a bunch of lecture videos for my classes. While I didn't teach a networking course per se during that time, I did cover some networking topics. This link is a page where I have all the videos from that time frame collected together by subject and by course: http://cs.drexel.edu/~bls96/corona.html I will note that what I covered is more directed toward programming and explaining the protocols than configuring routers and doing network administration. The usual caveats: These are far from being polished professional productions. They haven't been vetted for errors. They may not be self-contained in that they may refer to things discussed outside of them and may even make reference to assignments in the classes. In other words, if I said anything wrong in them, it's a fake created by AI. If you disagree with any of the positions presented, it's a fake created by AI. If I said anything deep and profound, that part was really me. With the usual guarantee of no guarantee, you'll welcome to peruse them in case you find any of them helpful. I'd like to toss together a class on networking. This is not for VCF East 2024. I can get my hands on a sniffer, switches, FWs, cables, clients and servers. And I might be able to teach it. I've got a lot of 'stuff' (be nice) in my head. Unfortunately I need to keep it short but need to cover some basics Stack TCP/IP UDP connection connectionless Bridges Routers FW NAT Wireshark No VLANS (but the switch will use them internally), no IPv6, no RTP, no QoS, etc. I'll need to find my older Comer networking book. Did a nice job with IP networking in a small book. -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry kd2zrq@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies KD2ZRQ
