As others have stated, you cannot if your 1084S is a US model. My remaining one is. Personally, all of my remaining PAL/non-NTSC systems are run through an XRGB-mini, which gives excellent results and lets you use it on any HDMI-equipped monitor. Of course, there are far cheaper converters out there if you're in a pinch, just look for S-VIDEO or COMPOSITE to HDMI converters (they're around $30 or so), but the results won't necessarily be the best. On the plus side, with the C-64 and many other computers with PAL-specific models like the Atari 8-bit series, you can at least use the same monitor cables you use for the NTSC model. You can use some of the other suggestions mentioned, but you may get a black and white only picture. In fact, it's been so long since I tried, but that may be what happens when using it with a 1084S US monitor, although it may have not even gotten there. ======================================================== Bill Loguidice, Managing Director; Armchair Arcade, Inc. <http://www.armchairarcade.com> ======================================================== Authored Books <http://www.amazon.com/Bill-Loguidice/e/B001U7W3YS/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_1> and Film <http://www.armchairarcade.com/film>; About me and other ways to get in touch <http://about.me/billloguidice> ======================================================== On Tue, Sep 18, 2018 at 1:03 AM Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
Can anyone confirm that I can use a Commodore 1084S monitor to display a Pal C64? I finally got around to converting my C64 to PAL, but my LED monitor doesn't seem to work with PAL.
