That's why I started this thread by asking for an alternative to "living" since that is already taken. I also said that we'd be very happy to have an equally ideal one-word synonym for "community center" since we're more than just a museum. Best of all would be if that word starts with 'F' to fit our scheme of Festivals / Forum / ???? but I know that's asking a lot.
The Society for Historical Computing at the InfoAge Science Center? The NJ Society for Historical Computing at the InfoAge Science Center? The NJ Society for Historical Computing?
The idea of using society was to make it important but social.
Alternatives were "association, club, group, circle, fellowship, guild, lodge, fraternity, brotherhood, sisterhood, sorority, league, union, alliance"
Fellowship sounds too Tolken.
I like Guild.
The Computer History Preservation Guild was a working name for LSSM for awhile. I grew to hate it. "Guild" sorta implies a group of people, while the museum is a place. -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA
