$5000 does not sound like much to most. I think the biggest issue here is the “collectible stuff” that most of us have, needs to be in a fairly “controlled environment “. I know that most of what I have in the garage is subject to temperature changes throughout the seasons, But not temperature swings as if it were outside in the hot sun or the cold wind. Aside from a few glass electron tubes imploding, I haven’t had any “casualties”. So my point here is: a storage unit that is between other storage units or inside a building would be considered more desirable. The Reason why some of us pay more. Mike R. Would it not be possible to have a large shed purchased and installed in your yard? Now I’m going back 20 years but I had a stone base put down (Oz NY landscaping timber and a 10x25 foot shed installed by the Amish for about $5000. That’s about $21 a month over 20 years. I do have investigate to have its shingles replaced. It’s a tall shed so I may ask for a metal roof to match the house.
Then the local township raised my realistate taxes because of the shed (sigh), but at least it’s onsite and 20 feet from my shop.

Wow... here I thought $190 for my 10x20 commercial storage space here in Pennsylvania was expensive.

So I recently got storage in NJ because storage in NYC is just too expensive. I wasn't there a year and they greatly increased price. I have a 5x12 and I went from $97 to $156. Does anyone have a recommendation of a good storage company that is not that expensive?
