What is the goal of the list? Helping us find something new to listen to while driving, something new to watch on YouTube when we find ourselves idle? Finding people to contact about upcoming VCF events?
As Jim Brain said, it was my intention to be personally informed to all the different podcasters, streams, etc. in the vintage computing world and related hobbies. I know about a few of them, but not all of them and certainly not all that I want to know about. The easiest and fastest way for me is to ask others on this list what they know and recommend. I am ignorant of the many sites and continuously forget some and don't know about others. It is helpful for me to make a reference list that I can look at then trying to find something or someone. I want to start exploring these different places to see who they are, what they are talking about and keep updated on what they say and do. As part of the general universe of vintage computing I would like to stay informed, entertained and educated. It could also help others to know about some channels that they never heard of or didn't know about. A more specific reason is to possibly invite some of them to our show. I want to evaluate them and the best way to start is to make a list of ones that others know about. Then I will to see what they are all about, whether they are relevant and current in the vintage computing world, etc. I have an idea that I'm exploring for VCF East 2023 and want to do my research before committing to this idea.
If the scope gets extended as far as things like reviews of early 1990s PC games, or TV/pinball repair, etc., then the list may become huge and possibly not usefully serving the intended purpose. If it's about marketing VCF events, then podcasts whose doors have (or have effectively) closed are not very helpful, and the list would require more update attention for it to avoid going out of date.
Yes. I can see how the list will likely be spread out and segmented into other areas, and I may at some point separate them into a distinct tabs. I don't intend to make a comprehensive, constantly updated database. For the time being it is quick and dirty and for educational and informational purposes only. Think of it as a recommendation list by individuals onto a bulletin board. Take it as-is which is a bunch of peoples opinions and knowledge.
I suspect for better or worse, the number of entries on this list is going to be huge without (or maybe even with) some kind of statement of scope. Particularly if we're adding people's names too, as we seem to be doing, and some of these channels/podcasts involve several people each. It may be an interesting resource to have, but it'll be a project just to read the list.
Everyone is free to read or not read the list. If it is too much for someone, then they don't need to read the list and find their information in other ways. Google is a good start. In addition, anyone can offer a helpful suggestion to make it easier to read. Anyone is free to do their own searching. Some people might actually enjoy browsing a list such as this.
I'm guessing this is just intended to be a list of "interesting things to check out, and people who have done interesting things in the past who might do something interesting in the future that isn't yet on the list" but it would be useful to have a kind of mission statement if the public is helping with updates and additions.
Having public help is useful. This list is not intended to be an endorsement of any kind. It is neither implied, nor intended. Use at your own risk. VCF is not responsible for any consequences of watching or listening to these people. == Jeff Brace

And here is the list of which channels they are on. I'm not sure if all are on YouTube or some are on other platforms such as Twitch.

podcasts may not be on YT or Twitch, as they are not video. Also, some are accessible in multiple locations (Twitch and YT)
Are you requesting help to complete the list (it's view only, so hard to provide updates)?
At first I thought that I would update, but I think the people on this list are trustworthy ; I will open it up. As well as the text only list.
It might be nice, if this is to grow into a reference, to put in focus or context for them. Some cover historical aspects, some are hardware-focused, others are gaming focused, etc.
Yes. I agree. This is part of the reason that I wanted to do this, a reference, for me personally and for the general public.
