Sort of. What I'm saying is, AFAIK, if you press the button * and
let go * then it records one press, which is what I thought you
were asking. However if that were true then my PTT code wouldn't
work, yet it does :) so you guys are probably right about it
reading the button as long as it's pressed.
I know the documentation is weak - we shared observations of that at
a workshop last autumn, but according to this
from the reference guide:
button? buttonnumber
Reports true if the button buttonnumber on a game paddle (or
joystick) is pressed; otherwise, it reports false.
Examples:
show button?
false
Leaves interpretation wide open. However, least likely is that it
only reports true after release.
I think its highly likely that repeated button? uses will return
true as long as the button is
held in. You have to have the lockout implemented.
"is pressed" probably is means "is being pressed".
Are confident with trying the code with acting on the first
indication of a press as I illustrated?
I could go so far as try to run LOGO myself but I'll have to re-read
the whole thread on making a disk... if it is possible...
