Though I did not speak at VCF East, I do speak at these events on occasion. To the mic runners, I'd encourage you to just call out the issue in the midst of the presentation. I know it sounds a bit unprofessional, but when I am presenting, I forget some of these things. A diplomatically placed "Pardon, but please hold your question and response until the mic gets to you" or something equally directional and diplomatic would be a godsend when I forget to wait to respond to the question until the mic can arrive and the person repeat their question into the mic. Pre-planning is great, but speakers do tend to forget these things during the talk. Jim
