More accurately, there was an empty Amdahl communications cabinet (literally nothing in it, empty) that was sold as scrap. Here's a picture: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amdahl_Corporation#/media/File:Amdahl_4705.jpg I don't know if this was part of the 5890, but it would make sense that it was (although I have no idea if the periods match). What little remains of the 5890 is still in the warehouse. I had a chance to show it to my father and he indicated it is primarily memory. Jeff Jonas might be able to elaborate. -Adam On Mon, Jan 17, 2022 at 10:37 AM Andrew Diller via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
Yes, it's empty hulk (the cabinet?) was in the warehouse for a long time till it was recently sold for scrap as it was unusable for anything but a mouse hotel.

InfoAge received a working Amdahl 5890 from AT&T (Was powered down by it's operations team, packed and and delivered to Camp Evans).
It was "accidentally" destroyed and scrapped out during the BRAC process at Camp Evans
