True. I just can’t afford to work the way I love most. Working digitally was great at first and still has many advantages especially for making photomontage. But I miss the level of control and patience that film took. I can’t even print my own color prints from negs anymore. The machine simply does not exist. (At least not operating). C’est les vis. Modern digital “workflow” has taken the joy out of imaging apps. It’s all about creating actions to speed up workflow. I prefer to obsess over details. 🤓🤪 On Dec 1, 2018, 12:55 PM -0500, Herb Johnson via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org>, wrote:

My one true regret in life is that I didn't peruse the same in the 90's. Coming back to photography now in my late 30's has been a real source of joy and deep personal satisfaction.
It's far afield from vintage computing, but this is aligned with interests in vintage technology. And early microprocessor and silicon technology in imaging, has been displayed at VCF-East. So there's some overlap. - Herb
