Here’s where I am at this point: A friend and cohort on some VIC projects, Steve Gray, sent me high res pictures and dumps of both the character ROM and firmware. Its a fairly unique board in that there are chips within several of the footprints. So, for example, an LS245 under the 6845 chip. Schematics are not known to exist as far as I know but based on the chips, it seems similar to other board designs like the one for the AIM-65 or the DS68 (SS-50 bus). It takes over the whole $A000 block and has an odd IO block address, likely to make decoding easier. The character ROM is a 2316 mask-programmed ROM. I would like to use a modern substitute for that rather than redesigning the board because, frankly, there’s not a lot of extra room. That’s what I know for now…will eventually put stuff on my GitHub page with my other VIC projects.
