Sheldon is obviously a very discerning customer :-) On Mon, Jan 8, 2018 at 12:31 PM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Sheldon should've bought a C-64 ;)
I forgot to mention the reason why they wanted a 1000. Turns out there was an episode the main show where adult Sheldon mentions that his first computer was a 1000SL. So they worked that into the spinoff.
Kelly emailed me and pointed out that BBT writer/producer Bill Prady worked for The Small Computer Company in the 1980s and had a boss named Howard Wolowitz. SCC made database software for the TRS-80. So, many years later, Prady included that character name and Tandy computers into the TV show.
