I get this often in GMail
People will CC: or BCC: the list and it hits the spam filter or bounces and then cctalk's system will unsubscribe and then I have to resubscribe
I don't get it often, but it happened once before and I never knew why.
Look for an email in your Inbox Promotions tab from cctalk-request saying this:
Your membership in the mailing list cctalk has been disabled due to excessive bounces The last bounce received from you was dated 14-Mar-2022. You will not get any more messages from this list until you re-enable your membership. You will receive 2 more reminders like this before your membership in the list is deleted.
If you don't keep on top of your Promotions tab this is easy to miss.

Ken, No, I have received the excessive bounces message many times over the past 20 years since I joined the list. This is the first time I was simply unsubscribed, as I wrote in my original post. NO biggie, I just re-subscribed. Bill
