Thanks Bill. Although it runs DOS, it isn’t like a PC since it doesn’t have a BIOS. It’s like the Tandy 1000/2000 in a way — so long as the software uses only DOS INT21h calls (and not BIOS calls) and only character IO, it should work. I’d be willing to try what you have and see how it works. I have an MS DOS 1.25 for my Compupro 8/16 but I never got it to work correctly. I do have some DOS 1 era software from a regular IBM PC on 5 1/4", but I am unsure if it's Gazelle compatible. There are BIOS issues. Bill On Fri, Nov 10, 2017 at 9:50 PM, Richard Cini via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:
Bill –
If you’re talking about Perfect Writer, I actually made an 8” disk from the one on Bitsavers (maybe you provided the original copy?). I posted the process I used on my Web site, but basically I setup an old PC/AT as an imaging machine so that I could make and reproduce 8” disks and images. I was wondering if there was any other software for the Gazelle that might be interesting to use.
