I had found this one in the basement of IBM, and it had been trod on. The pins were all there but some wwre bent 90 degrees. The pins in a corner where a boot probably hit are snapping when I try to straighten them.Regards,Dan FitzGeraldClassical Computing Laboratory at IBM Poughkeepsehttp://www.vm.ibm.com/devpages/DFITZGERVM/SP Systems Programming Team, Interim Computer MuseumHNET: SDFVM(DFITZGER) -------- Original message --------From: Sentrytv <sentrytv@yahoo.com> Date: 10/24/25 13:25 (GMT-05:00) To: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Cc: Dean Notarnicola <dean.notarnicola@vcfed.org>, vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org>, Dan FitzGerald <danjfitzgerald@comcast.net> Subject: Re: [vcf-midatlantic] Need: Socket 8 aluminum heatsink for Pentium Pro It really is a shameI have very good luck in bending pins on older processorsAs long as they’re not bent 90° or more it shouldn’t be that difficult, but yet time consuming.Yeah, sometimes where the pins are “soldered “ they break off.MikeSent from:My extremely complicated, hand held electronic device.> On Oct 24, 2025, at 11:31 AM, Dan FitzGerald via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:> > > <mime-attachment>
