It has been brought to my attention that there may be a significant number of people that will be traveling to see the total solar eclipse which takes place on April 8 and some will be skipping VCF East.
I did notice the dates are rather close.
VCF East is scheduled for April 5, 6, 7, 2024 @ InfoAge. The total solar eclipse in the US is a rare event and the next one is in 2044.
The line of totality runs a few miles from my house. I've been waiting for decades for it!
I already saw the last one in 2018 in Smithville, TN, so I don't need to see another. It was quite an interesting experience.
I saw the one in 2018 in KY. It was a fantastic experience and made the next one all that more desirable to see.
I'd be curious to know what all of you feel about whether you would attend or not based on this information. It's not too late to change the dates, but I would need to figure it out within the next few weeks.
I was planning on doing both, since I have to go home on Sunday anyway. The eclipse is Monday afternoon, which should give me enough time to get wherever I need to get to. I didn't have plans to go any farther than 3-4 hrs from home on Monday in any case. -ethan
