Not having the RTC, and specifically not having the exact RTC that the Sun expects are a deal-breaker: it'll keep the machine from auto-booting even if everything else is fine. Plus, the little modules are much cheaper than any other solution.
Cool!! Yea, the F-RAM prices are brutal! Will have to check out my Voyager to see how it's doing.
