I have a Manfrotto 3001 / 3126 fluid head tripod. It's almost as old as my computers, and I have used it constantly since "back then".
My video camera is a consumer grade 1080p camera. Looks great.
My comment is that I have both -- the Canon VIXIA HF-G40 (brand new as it was only released 1-FEB-2016) and a Manfrotto tripod which is 10-15 years old now. I'll agree, 1080p does look incredible.
