I do the same -- move stuff around using Linux. I do have Mike Brutman's mTCP on the DOS install, which is useful for grabbing the occasional thing over the network using FTP. But, for the most part, I reboot into the Linux install and copy files over NFS. Assuming you do get CTTY working, there are some issues with it: anything that talks directly to video memory will bypass it and be unusable. I found that the DOS software for my EPROM programmer does that. You might look at plugging an IP KVM module onto the machine and getting remote access that way. Being a P4 with ISA, if it's an industrial box, it may already have an out-of-band (OOB) management module you can talk to over the network. If you do go the IP KVM route, beware of cables that talk over Cat5 but aren't an actual IP KVM module. I don't have an answer to your specific question, but how I addressed this problem is to build up the system disk to dual-boot Freedom and Linux, with Linux able to access the DOS partition. A lot (actually all) of my tape imaging activities are done under Linux, but I can easily move stuff in and out of the DOS side using civilized network access.

Anyone know why that is and how to fix it? I'm thinking CTTY is looking at control lines, but I have a serial breakout box on it now and cts/rts criss-crossed as they should.
