I certainly hope not. My experience with lists that allow attachments has been that people tend to reply to messages and include the attachments in the reply. You end up with a whole thread that endlessly and unnecessarily copies the attachments.

I completely agree. I'm getting hammered daily from a mailing list for the Heathkit ET3400 where someone sends a post with a couple of 12MP photos then there are 5 replies with attachments preserved. Many megabytes per occurrence and then I have to go hunt them down and delete them.
Not a fan.
