Yeah. That's the unfortunate part. A round trip to New Kensington and back takes up an entire working day, and I have no other connections in Pittsburgh to justify the trip. No offense to Dave. It's just that I'm inconveniently too far to be able to invest an appropriate amount of time. I'd be spending more time driving than scanning. Occasionally, once or twice a year, I am in the Pittsburgh area for work, but the next time that would be happening for me will be December 2022. I could probably arrange an extra overnight stay nearby to scan stuff Saturday afternoon and Sunday in that case. Well, in that case, I wish you lived closer.
We get lots of people saying they'd like to volunteer at LSSM. But they quickly learn that that means WORKING, not sitting around playing with PDP-11s, so they don't last long.
Starting to get pretty sick of it.

If the scanners were closer to me, I'd certainly help with the
scanning.

We did that over at LSSM; we have thousands of pounds of manuals

the scanning queue. I worked hard setting it all up; we have very nice high-speed production scanners and a workflow to PDF/a format all set up. But the scanners sit idle, because nobody is willing to do the work.
