A quick reply: nothing in my area is affordable since storage units - are NOT rent controlled - are now month to month leases, so the rent increases anytime - now include tax - are a monopoly/duopoly: Storage Post, CubeSmart My renter's insurance includes storage units, so that surcharge is waived. That is a much better deal because - there's a discount for the "umbrella policy": car and renter's insurance from same company/agent - the coverage is independent of the storage company, useful when their auto-billing fails. I've lost inventory from roof leaks and floods. Most LIE about "climate control": there's little to no ventilation let alone heat or air conditioning. It's too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter. -- jeff jonas
