Hello Jason K, Thank you for bringing up this issue. Until today there wasn't a major issue, but with the AQI at 190 in the Wall area as I type this, this is a serious situation. At this level it is considered unhealthy. Almost to the "very unhealthy" level. Some schools are closing because there isn't any A/C. The school where I worked cancelled recess and all sports activities. Some kids were sent home because they felt sick. People started wearing masks, but lots of coughing when going outside and some kids feeling sick. My current plan which may change is: evaluate conditions tomorrow and make a call. If I do end up cancelling, then I will look at the next available date that looks good. The next date that we have already reserved for our repair workshop is July 8 & 9. I would most likely choose July 8 as the next swap meet. There doesn't appear to be any other events that conflict with this date. I want to make the call by tomorrow because I know people are traveling from a distance and want to give as much notice as possible. I'm also mindful of the volunteers helping me to setup the signs and staging the truck with swag and setup materials on Friday. There are also the "buyers" to consider if they would be willing to come out in such conditions. I do realize also that Friday there is rain expected and that has a way of clearing things out, but I would rather make a call and be safe than sorry. It's possible for me to just cancel the swap meet and still do the repair workshop as it is indoors and less of a problem. There is a lot to consider. Are there any backup plans in the works if the AQI happens to be bad or hazardous on Saturday? We might get lucky, but it looks like it's supposed to be bad on Friday.
