Yes - I have been contacted by a number of people who privately expressed their opinions and encouragement. In fact I am surprised how many. So we move on. We are working out a great hotel/food deal and we have a large open venue across the street from our shop for the event that we used to use with the Kennett Makerspace. Kennett Square is a few miles from Longwood Gardens, not to mention Kennett Square's multiple brew pubs, restaurants, art galleries and shops within walking distance of the shop. Kennett Square is in between Philadelphia and Baltimore off rte 1. Just down the road is Winterthur, Brandwine Battlefield and all of the Revolutionary War stuff, Joe Biden's house is nearby, the University of Delaware, etc. You could actually bring your significant other to a place like this as there is plenty to do. Did you know that there is new computer museum about 20 miles away in Parkesburg called the "Computer Church" opening in the fall of 2020 ( http://www.thecomputerchurch.org/)? System Source's Computer Museum is about an hour and a half south down rte 1. And those on their way east from the middle of the country through PA should stop by the Large Scale System Museum and their beautiful exhibits there. I agree that someone in the hobby might really want to make a week of it, there are many less-out-of-the-the-way alternatives for those to the south and west. There are alternatives! Bill and all, Jeff has verbalized what I was thinking. To help people make a vacation of the two events, we need a list of fun places to visit - places geeks like us would find interesting - to fill the intervening week. The first thing I found is the Marshall Steam Museum (10 minutes from Kennett Square). Altoona and Gallitzin may be too far. Jim

Making lemonade out of lemons... wouldn't it be an incentive for those regular visitors who travel long ways to to attend VCF East to also hang around the area for less than an additional week to attend Kennett Classic? Especially those who would would be flying in and might justify staying a few extra days to do so. Why pay for two sets of round trip flights if they wanted to go to Kennett Classic, too?
Not trying to incite violence here. It's just a thought.

We had no choice. September and November were out. Considering the only two weekends at our disposal were the one we chose or the same one as your event, we jumped through hoops to avoid rescheduling on the same dates as your event. and considering the circumstances under which we had to do so we would hope you would understand.

To schedule vcf east less than a week before our event is a blantant and ignorant obnoxious affront to us! We consulted with vcfed so as not to infringe with the events and plans of the federation and this is what we get in return. How unprofessional. I ask everyone to stand behind us to protest this decision. Please be human and decent, we did everything to space our event. We offered to volunteer at vcfed! If you continue to pursue this, the working relationship between our two groups will be permanently damaged.
