If I can ask, what Linux are you running, what Asterisk release, and what channel bank?
Since CDL / VCF is starting from scratch, it may be useful to go with a combination known to work.
? The server is running Ubuntu 22.04LTS, running Asterisk 18.10.0.
Anything recent is pretty much a combination known to work. Asterisk 18 is already security fix only and very shortly end of life[1]. It should be avoided in new installs.
I would recommend just using Asterisk 22. There aren't really any reasons to be concerned about newer versions of Asterisk anymore these days, and there are new features and bug fixes in the more recent versions. I say this as a developer aware of pretty much every Asterisk change in recent years. Regressions happen time to time, but they are just as likely to affect some arbitrary old version as a current version, and if the former, they won't be fixed.
You may also be interested in a tool I maintain[2] which automates the installation of DAHDI/Asterisk (eliminating the excuse of not upgrading), and also adds a bunch of additional features.

FYI to those asking about what cable to run.
If permanent I would suggest CAT6a or 7 which would allow for multi uses of the runs! 10mb, 100mb, 1gb, or 10gb as well as regular POTS Analog Tip-Ring and even some PBX technologies like Nortel MICS.
If temporary then run whatever you have the most of laying around!

Both are cross-connected to RJ-11 patch panels, and CMG (SIP) service cards added. At the moment, they are on the Camp Evans Backbone, however they could be isolated on their own fiber and fed from CDL (Building 9059)

I think I remember seeing that a few weeks ago, and I was wondering what that was for!
I *would* do it, as I operate a number of Asterisk systems with associated equipment and this is right up my alley, but unfortunately I'm not local so I'd likely only be able to attend Saturday. If someone else is able to do any needed wiring beforehand, I'm happy to help with setting up the box remotely if needed.

That, and it's significantly more feature rich, when dealing with analog phones. There's a lot of cool stuff you can do with TDM that you just can't do with SIP. From what I understand, VCF Midwest also uses real TDM at their conference and not SIP. (I'm also a bit biased, I'm the primarily developer of TDM related stuff in Asterisk nowadays.)

CDL has an HP G4 workstation and Digium 5TE420 T1 card that we offered to rack in the 9032A furnace room (and will do so once we iron out the UPS issue) - what we do not have the resources to run the horizontal cables to the exhibit location? in 9032A.? VCF would need to address that as show set-up.

Neat! Unfortunately, I'd be surprised if DAHDI ran on anything besides Linux nowadays. DAHDI BSD hasn't been maintained in forever. Even on Linux, maintenance from the company has been basically nonexistent, I am doing basically all of it (and I don't work for Digium/Sangoma). The company has really gone downhill since Mark Spencer left to fly airplanes and they sold to Sangoma, they no longer have anyone on payroll that really understands the TDM stuff at all.

I know that there are some SBC and robotics people on-list so I thought I?d toss this question out there. I dug up an old project from the 1990?s that used a V25-based SBC from New Micros in Texas. There?s scant info available other than a 2-page spec sheet, but it seems that it ran Forth and a robotics ?monitor? from the Seattle Robotics Society. The former owner of NM passed away in 2020, so I thought I?d ask if anyone has a manual or schematics for the NMIT-0025 or NMIX-0025 boards (one version sat on a carrier board and the other was an ECB-sized board with a prototyping area). If you go up the file tree, it looks like a great archive of New Micros stuff, but nothing on this board. I tried sending a message to the owner, but I get 403. So the Usual Suspects at Camp Evans (the home of the VCF brick and mortar museum) have racked the ADIT-600 channel banks adjacent to the main exhibition space in Building 9032A.
Both are cross-connected to RJ-11 patch panels, and CMG (SIP) service cards added. At the moment, they are on the Camp Evans Backbone, however they could be isolated on their own fiber and fed from CDL (Building 9059)

I think I remember seeing that a few weeks ago, and I was wondering what that was for!
I *would* do it, as I operate a number of Asterisk systems with associated equipment and this is right up my alley, but unfortunately I'm not local so I'd likely only be able to attend Saturday. If someone else is able to do any needed wiring beforehand, I'm happy to help with setting up the box remotely if needed.
I have a CMG card myself but haven't done anything much with it, and using TDM is really the proper way to set up a channel bank - IMO, using SIP will offer a significantly degraded experience. Any reason T1s can't be run back to the Asterisk server, particularly if it'll be on site?

CDL has an HP G4 workstation and Digium 5TE420 T1 card that we offered to rack in the 9032A furnace room (and will do so once we iron out the UPS issue) - what we do not have the resources to run the horizontal cables to the exhibit location? in 9032A. VCF would need to address that as show set-up.
Which location is 9032A on the map[1]? I can't remember where that is off hand. By resources, is the main constraint the cable itself or something else? How many tables need to be wired up and what's the size of the room?

If it turn out only one or two exhibitors need phone lines, I have a box of CISCO ATA191-3PW-K9 ATA that CDL set up for PoE, would be running network cable instead of analog voice to the exhibits.? With that said, would prefer to have an permanent asterisk switch on site.

You've gotten my curiosity up, since I just heard that a local company here in the Dayton area has a pallet of Askersik phones that they are about to get rid of. Some are in original boxes that were never used.
I was thinking we should get 4 or 6 to keep for our local computer museum project.

That's the way we do it at LSSM for our internal dial-in pool and BBSes. TDM is so much simpler and free of hassle compared to SIP.
That, and it's significantly more feature rich, when dealing with analog phones. There's a lot of cool stuff you can do with TDM that you just can't do with SIP. From what I understand, VCF Midwest also uses real TDM at their conference and not SIP.

(I'm also a bit biased, I'm the primarily developer of TDM related stuff in Asterisk nowadays.)

In this case, a method to squeeze 23/24 calls onto two pairs of wire (T1)
CMG (Customer Media Gateway) service card provides IP services like TDM-to-IP voice conversion and routing n the ADIT600 series equipment
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is a specific protocol used to manage the establishment, maintenance, and termination of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) telephone calls.
Re the IP phones:? Be aware that some are locked to a specific carrier, or cannot be used for SIP/VoIP without new firmware (looking at you Cisco!)

Since CDL / VCF is starting from scratch, it may be useful to go with a combination known to work.

The server is running Ubuntu 22.04LTS, running Asterisk 18.10.0.
