As a former owner of a Geo Metro (...turns in Man Card...), I can honestly attest to the 5-door version having a surprising amount of room to haul things, yet get very good gas mileage. I used to do field service work with mine, fixing, delivering, and installing large word processing machines. That being said, if a cylinder ever goes out in the engine (mine did once), you're driving a very heavy vehicle from the point of view of the remaining two cylinders.
