Scale is important, but wouldn't be necessarily hard to duplicate.  One could probably work
from the original drawings rather than from the existing model. 
Might be awesome to have a model of it that is also significantly bigger than these.
Easy for me to muse on, I probably won't be doing it...   :/

AFAIK, the model and its components are built to scale. Our larger model is in bad condition and the only way to take measurements from its components (for scaling up) would be if we dismantle it. That is why I hoped someone in this group would win the small one -- it's in good condition and doesn't have walls/top in the way.

However it's certainly not worth anywhere near what the seller is now asking!!
