Hello! Well I'll certainly be there to help work the Party to celebrate the end of a strange year. Besides InfoAge needs a Timelord to make things work. ----- Gregg C Levine gregg.drwho8@gmail.com "This signature fought the Time Wars, time and again." If it's the "The Annual Winter Volunteer Celebration" then it is the "The Annual Winter Volunteer Celebration". If you want to get technical it's really the "End of Year Gathering", but your mileage may vary I work at a place that is a lot more jacked up about this season. I really don't want it here.
I'm more concerned what is going happen at the event then the name
OK. The plan is no repair workshop like last year. It fragmented the
group
and it's meant to be a party more than anything else. We would rather have everyone in one building. We will still allow a mini-swap meet. VCF won't be setting up a table for that. I spent too much time selling swag by myself most of the party instead of enjoying the party.
I did enjoy offloading some stuff last year (and judging by the amount I offloaded, so did many others!). I'm hoping to bring some this time as well, assuming we're not in the middle of a big COVID wave. I personally wouldn't likely be going to a workshop.
Just say no to COVID! I will be setting up a portable spray of sanitizing alcohol 70% to kill all air borne germs. Wait, that might work so well ....
wings from CluckU. Everyone seemed to like the wings so I will get more.
Yes. Everyone seems to enjoy chicken wings. Very welcome!
I've finally reconstituted my homebrew equipment that got lost in the move and neglected because life got crazy, so hopefully I'll have some interesting beers and also some very nice Chinese teas. Anyone who collects pu'er, oolongs, etc. please bring some, we can trade samples!
Sounds delicious!
Burgers and hot dogs will be dispensed
Yes. We plan on grilling in the outside trailer like last year. I hope that Bernie S comes and helps me with that. It was nice to have cooking partner.
I'm always happy to cook as well!
Thanks!
We will freeze like we do every year
I don't control the weather!
Not with that attitude!
OK. I will do better ... I will work on a special weather control device, just for Festivus!
And everyone will have a good time.
I will enforce this. Everyone *will* have a good time or else ;)
Mandatory Fun FTW!
Anyone interested in Vintage Computer Themed games in the style of The Squid Game, please let me know and I would be glad to organize ;) The finalist gets everything in the warehouse.
All I ask is let me know when we need to send money
This year we won't use EventBrite. No one seemed interested in using it. We will take cash or credit card at the door. Those who want to pay ahead can do so with PayPal.
I think I used EventBrite last time and it worked fine, but I imagine more goes to the group if I use cash or the like, so I'm happy to do so.
Anyway, looking forward to Generic Solstice Gathering Which May Or May Not Be Indirectly Pagan In Origin 2022!
I hope that you can make it! We miss having you at our gatherings!
