Very impressive indeed, Connor! Did you get the accessories and such to get it booting eventually?
Kyle No just the machine, but I will be grabbing a SAN device to attach SCSI via FCP to boot at-least linux for the time being, you need ESCON or FICON storage to boot any IBM OS' as far as I know. For example this will get me some SCSI connectivity via FICON using FCP: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-2108-G07-Storage-Area-Network-SAN-Data-Gateway-3...

That thing only takes 6 kW? I'm a little surprised. Spec sheet reads 4.2kW for max load with I/O cage fully loaded. It puts out 14kBTU per hour at that power draw :) Congrats! I'm sure Rutgers was mostly just happy not to have to pay someone to cart it away. :-) Also, good news: you won't have to pay the gas company to heat your house this winter. Yea heh, with no HVAC in the basement atm I can't wait to get it online. You have an unusually tolerant father. Good luck with that thing! That's a neat find. You're bringing it to Festivus, right?
He's been getting less tolerant with the more I try and move down here haha. And in your dreams, unless you want to help move it I don't think so lol.
