Oof. I still have PTSD from taking my model F keyboard apart for cleaning/servicing... I had a bear of a time getting the thing back together after I slid the backplate off. I've seen people cutting pool noodles to size to raise the buckling springs section up so they sit flush and remain in place while trying to get the board back on, but yeah, I feel your frustration. And the AT is different than the PC/XT so you should maybe try to track one down at the warehouse for.compare and contrast purposes if there is one. Hard to find AT keyboards.

Hi, everybody!
This weekend I am bringing my PC-AT Model F keyboard, which I have rebuilt but am having problems putting back together. It took me several tries to have all of the keysprings stay in the right place, and now all the keys work, except that when I boot the AT it is reporting a keypress. I decode the error, and the "key" being pressed doesn't exist. This has just been a really frustrating exercise, so I would really appreciate assistance from somebody who is more experienced working with Model Fs.
