All the VMS Images I have, even the ones from Digital have ".iso" extensions so I assume some software "barfs" at other extensions. When I started playing with VMS images I assumed they were ISO but quickly found out they are not, they are just block dumps of the filing system, and I believe if you have a Linux system you can just DD them to a partition and then mount under VMS. There is a vast collection of VAX images at vaxhaven.com again all as ".iso" files... Dave

There's really not a standard for non-ISO9660 image files. You can use .img or .cdr, which both seem to be in common use.
