I wouldn't be too sad, personally, though its historic, its not like the craftmanship is that high; I think someone could make a lot more visually interesting model that wasn't made of nearly featureless grey boxes of varying dimentions.
AFAIK, the model and its components are built to scale. Our larger model is in bad condition and the only way to take measurements from its components (for scaling up) would be if we dismantle it. That is why I hoped someone in this group would win the small one -- it's in good condition and doesn't have walls/top in the way. However it's certainly not worth anywhere near what the seller is now asking!!
