I believe Tony Diaz gave a presentation at Kfest some odd years ago about repairing those Apple drives, and the video is on the Internet somewhere but I'm not sure where. I'll ask Tony if he remembers where it's posted. Sent from my iPhone

Yeah, that was me that gave that presentation. I don't think it got videotaped. Also, the floppy drive repair was only a part of it, I was going over a lot of different Mac related repairs.
The repair for both the 800K and 1.4mb auto inject drives is pretty much the same, you have to remove the upper disk carriage and clean the points at which the pieces slide - the old grease will have solidified and glued it all together. I've not put anything together on the subject - there might be something out there, but I'm not sure. If anyone is interested, I can do a session at the next workshop or something.

Hi all,
I rember that someone in the group had done a presentation of Macintosh floppy drive repair (it might have been Ian P, not sure).
I have decided that my pile of bad 1 and 2 MB Mac floppy drives needs attended to, they are all Sony auto inject drives.
Was there a resentation ever done, and if so, was there a powerpoint that was with it?
Or if anyone knows of a website with a good tutorial.
