Start by verifying that you can format a new/blank 1.2mb disk. What hardware are you using? Are you sure you have a hd 5 1/4" drive ? If you have a Pentium II/III class computer the BIOS may offer support for 5 1/4" drives, simply update the BIOS and attach your drive. -- Bill
