Gotcha. Sorry for the confusion, but hopefully that clears things up! On Tue, May 17, 2022 at 3:04 PM Kelly Leavitt via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
Dean,
That's not my definition of straight through. Straight through means 1 to 1, 2 to 2, etc. Like Sentrytv said.
I can see it from your point of view, but that's not what I meant. ________________________________ From: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic-bounces@lists.vcfed.org> on behalf of Dean Notarnicola via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Sent: Tuesday, May 17, 2022 2:45 PM To: Sentrytv <sentrytv@yahoo.com> Cc: Dean Notarnicola <dnotarnicola@gmail.com>; vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Subject: Re: [vcf-midatlantic] Simple Commodore drive question
Think about two din connectors facing away from each other. If you ran a wire straight-through from pin 5 on one side, it would go to pin 1 on the other side.

So this may be a stupid question but if you wire cable pin to pin, does not not mean straight through? Like, pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2, etc..?

Is there anything special about the serial disk drive cable for the 1541s or will any straight through 6 pin DIN work?
I have several drives but I don't seem to have any of the cables.
Thanks, Kelly
