For the Amiga, there is a troubleshooting Kickstart replacement that uses the serial port to spit out diagnostic information. RAM tests and other functions.
Does anyone know if something like that exists for PC 286 era computers? Still troubleshooting a Yamaha C1 and there are issues and it's kicking my butt. Seems like the CPU might not be reading the keyboard controller properly or something.
The amiga chip will do ram tests and other things and just spit it out serial.
