Thanks, I stand corrected on the serial ports and slots question. The Compaq Presario is a "pizza box" computer, so only about 3" high, and almost totally silent. And your 1U machine probably does not have real serial ports, nor slots to accept modems cards.

You should catch up with the whole thread. :) A proper server uses more energy, is louder, and is computational overkill for the application. Also we have plenty of rack space.
