Hey Bob! Thanks for sharing these details. I watched David's video yesterday (and most of the videos on his channel). It is truly exciting to see this machine come to life. I can't count how many times I walked past the one that was in the NJ museum, not knowing what it was, and didn't give it a glance. Now thanks to you and David, I have a greater understanding of what they are and how they work. Also, I hope everyone is aware that David Usagi will be visiting LSSM on Friday, October 25 for an open house/fundraiser event. https://lssmuseum.square.site/product/haunted-hardware-fundraiser-ticket-pat... David (Usagi Electric) has posted his 12th video on his restoration of our Bendix G-15. The full list of videos is https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnw98JPyObn3QSIwUz5Iv6NA1x-uGFqAa
In the most recent post he gets the unit to boot! Well worth the watch!
Henry Harrison (1917-2010) collected 4 Bendix G-15s.
His sons lent one of the G-15s to the federation's museum in Wall. The Harrison estate auctioned that unit S/N 3 https://www.rrauction.com/auctions/lot-detail/347709906735051-bendix-g-15-th...
The Computer Museum @ System Source purchased the remaining three units #1 Is on display at System Source #2 Is on loan to VC Federation and is on display in the museum at Wall to replace the unit that was auctioned #3 Is on loan to Usagi Electric and is being restored.
We have had volunteers scanning led by Rob Kolstad scanning our library of G-15 Documents. The docs are https://rbk.delosent.com/g15doc.html
Most of the documentation we have was from a local Baltimore company that was called Greiner Engineering. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._E._Greiner_Company Greiner Engineering did the design work for many roads and bridges in Maryland.
A side note about Greiner Engineering. They had a long history of winning contracts in Maryland by participating in payoff screens involving a the former Baltimore County Executive, then Governor of Maryland, and then US Vice President Spiro T. Agnew. A good summary is in Time Magazine from August 1973 https://content.time.com/time/subscriber/article/0,33009,907711-1,00.html
