Years ago when I got my IMSAI it didn’t have drives, so many may remember my implementation using 5.25” HD drives (and the subject of two VCF presentations). I have an 8” drive system that I use on my Gazelle (dual Shugart 850’s) so I thought I’d see if connecting them would work. Indeed it does! I only had to modify the step rate parameter for the drives (4ms) in the monitor ROM and off it went. Today I’ll finish creating a “base” CP/M system disk — all it has is the system tracks.
