It was nice seeing everyone. I tried not to buy anything but I ended up having too as there was some good items. I want to thank the team for putting this together. I didn't realize that I could have rented a table otherwise I would have and carried more stuff.

It was our pleasure! There were about 150 adults and 10 under 13 that came. The attendance was about the same as the last two swap meets. However, next year I will do the summer one in early June. I had specified no rain, but I didn't specify temperature. 90 degrees is too much, I will ask for 70 degrees next June. *Next swap meet will be Nov. 2*. I moved it up one week so that I can get help from the Sea Cadets who will be on vacation Nov. 9. They were very helpful again this year! VCF also sold a decent amount of surplus that will fund the renovation and repair of the warehouse.

Yes. On the registration form I added table rental. We decided to offer this new feature for $5 per table. 20 tables were rented this time.

Jeff when you speak of “attendance” Are you talking about vendors or total including “buyers”? Im sure we would like to know how many sellers / vendors were actually there on Saturday? There is no doubt that “buyer” attendance was way below the previous swapmeets. Yes, of course, because of the heat wave. Thinking that maybe you were sending out some sort of poll for attendees on this list, I would’ve suggested a new date for sometime early June, because May would be too rainy. Yes. Buyers were 160. I took an accurate tally of them. Vendors, I don't have an account of the people, only the spaces, but estimate for vendor people is 40. So Total attendance is about 200. I will never be able to get an exact number of vendors. I will base it on the records that I have. Some didn't pre-register, so I have account for them. Sometimes there was 1, 2 or 3 vendor people which may not reflect the registration. Sometimes they switched the reservation with another vendor, etc.

No. I was simply responding to Chris Liendo's email and giving a little information. I am considering a poll and and a direct email to the vendors with the email addresses that I have.

As I've stated previously, the plan is to have it next year in early June. Just so you know there are many factors that go into choosing a date: 1) Far enough from VCF East that people feel it's worth it. 2) Availably space at InfoAge for overnight stays and repair workshop (Some people want this included to make it worth the trip). 3) No conflict with InfoAge events, outside events (HAM fests, etc.) 4) My schedule. If I'm planning and running this whole event, then I need to be available and not interfere with my personal or professional life. 5) Likely good weather. 6) The availability of the food truck. 7) The availability of the Sea Cadet volunteers. 8) The availability of the other volunteers. 9) Making sure that VCF Museum has a docent scheduled. 10) Time for me to plan, advertise, etc. after VCF East while balancing my personal life which I put on hold for VCF East. 11) Other factors that I can't remember off the top of my head. My 3 cents. Jeff

I strongly suggest reverting this policy regarding MAC privacy. It has become standard across most platforms due to the heavy use of MAC addresses for position/location tracking especially across different locations, and devices will not inform the user that this is why network connectivity is failing. While MAC addresses are randomized, they are consistent per-device for a period of time — e.g. for iOS devices, as long as the network is not unused for six weeks, but iOS 18 will bring changes to this mechanism. From a security perspective, it is trivial for someone to spoof a MAC address of a real-looking device; therefore blocking such MAC addresses doesn't particularly help. David

I wasn't aware that it existed. However, I don't think it worked. I was two spaces up from the main entrance tent at the swapmeet, so that put me physically close to the InfoAge campus. I had to fire up my laptop for something, and my laptop auto-connects to the guest wifi, but it didn't find, nor connect to it. I was able use my hotspot as a backup.
