Laptop stickers are generally high-quality, full-color, die-cut jobs like: https://www.stickermule.com/uses/laptop-stickers These are thick vinyl with a tough matte finish. This is what has become, for lack of a better term, industry standard in laptop stickers. Cheap paper or single-color screenprint is meh. Sizing can vary but fitting somewhere around a 2x2" square is a popular size, or ~1x4" banner style. (This is an odd thing to try to explain!) I feel like the official VCF round logo isn't perfect as-is - it needs to be inverted or something, the black background isn't right for this. -- Jameel On Wed, 15 Jan 2020, Christian Liendo via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

Vinyl, YES! Paper, don't waste my time. LOL What makes you say the VCF logo isn't OK as-is? Just curious. I am not graphic designer so I have no constructive criticism to offer, I guess I am just used to it, and kind of fond of it and its designer. Perhaps an idea for next year, we can develop a "Cards Against Humanity" type game with a vintage computer theme to sell. There are custom card printing services out there that could produce them. We could call it "Caps Reject Circuitry" or "Bits Shifting Endlessly" or whatever. An example card set could be... "The smoke coming out of my Apple II was caused by _______" - A RIFA - Too many slots filled - Someone saying Commodore was better. What do people think about smallish zippered pouches, for like storing small items so they don't get lost in your laptop bag? I have received several of this type of bag/pouch at events like Maker Faire. I don't know how popular they are, but I know I use two of them in my backpack every day. Thoughts? Not exactly what I was thinking but close: https://www.4imprint.com/product/141256-67/Chroma-Zip-Tweedle-Dee-Cotton-Pou... Also, maybe something like this, cheap enough to give away with paid admission: https://www.4imprint.com/product/141867/Prism-Tote And this type is handy, maybe for an inexpensive sale item: https://www.4imprint.com/product/6188-1814/Drawstring-Sportpack-18-x-14 Also, flash drives with our logo? My wife suggested pens but I think those are overdone, but maybe I am wrong. Pens? While searching I came across this which isn't necessarily a good idea but I like it: https://www.4imprint.com/product/153127/Mobile-Office-Commuter-Sleeve Chris On Wed, Jan 15, 2020 at 11:40 AM <jsalzman@gmail.com> wrote:

I haven’t researched anything to back this up, but how about a floppy disk case? I would most certainly buy VCF-branded 5 1/4 floppy storage.

The logo itself is good, it's just the black background as seen on the website. That doesn't look right as a contemporary laptop sticker. Maybe circuit-board light green. Play up the circuit-trace laurel. That's the only tweak I'd make for a sticker. I said invert previously, but on second thought a white background isn't right either. 2" is perfect sized if you have to pick just one. The great thing about StickerMule and its competitors is that you don't need to commit to huge production quantities in standard shapes - you could get them in 2/4/6" sizes in whatever quantities. I'm not sure on what other swag to make but I'll think on it. These days at conferences and vendor visits I personally tend to only take stickers unless they have something really funny (my squishy Zenoss zebra makes me laugh) or genuinely useful (I had a fantastic NetApp bottle opener). *thinks about a squishy foam miniature ADM-3A...* -- Jameel

For dark laptops the outside of the VCF logo might get lost. Solve that by have an 1/8” white border around it. Much easier than redesigning the logo. Tony Sent from my iPhone
