June 7, 2025 Swap Meet Status
I know that everyone is looking at the weather for the swap meet this coming Saturday, June 7. We have been watching the weather forcast very closely. A little rain is not concerning, but the thunderstorms are concerning. We will make a final call on Thursday at 10PM about what we will do. We will post here: https://vcfed.org/vcf-swap-meet/ so that there is one spot for current status information. A second issue is the food truck. The food truck cancelled a few days ago because the head chef died suddenly. We couldn't find a replacement at the last minute since it is a summer weekend and everyone is booked. We *may* have some solution to support at least the vendors and volunteers. The general public are on their own. Otherwise we have plenty of vendors signed up lots of interest. We have been daily out posts on Facebook & Instagram to tell everyone about the event. Lots of engagement, interest and excitement. Any questions? Please email: swapmeet@vcfed.org. Take care! Please update the website and the flyer to reflect the new changes I think everybody really should know Thank you Sent from: My extremely complicated, hand held electronic device.

Yes. Of course, I just sent that message 10 minutes ago. At least give me 15 minutes, I have a full time job here besides organizing the swap meet.
Thank you

I do realize that it is too early to tell and Friday would probably be the day you guys will call this. But , Jeff, I realized that the website said “rain or shine. “ So if it does rain or if there is thunderstorms as you may be anticipating, Is the group going to make a rain date for Sunday or Cancel completely? If they do cancel, is there a refund policy? Mike Sent from: My extremely complicated, hand held electronic device.

Yes. Thunderstorms are the exception because of the danger of lightning. I updated the website.
So if it does rain or if there is thunderstorms as you may be anticipating, Is the group going to make a rain date for Sunday or Cancel completely?
I wouldn't do it Sunday because I would lose most of my volunteers. A different date is possible. I'm evaluating other dates.
If they do cancel, is there a refund policy?
As stated on the website: " * In case of inclement weather, cost will be refunded." So if cancelled, then we will refund the money.
Mike
