Music would be nice. Maybe someone can bring a decent radio rather than Ian schlepping his receiver and speakers.
There's nothing decent on any radio anyway.

Evan, No, while I would like to, I just can't manage it. I have some stuff I thought would interest someone (anyone) and hoped to bring it down. I'll post a list to the list and people can come and pick it up if they want something - like a 9-track SCSI tape drive (not real-to-real). Found half a box of brand new DDS-2 DATs. Handful of used Zip disks. Anyone?

I'd be in for both if no one else wants either; I have a DDS-2 drive and use Zip disks frequently, as long as they're the 100MB variety. - Dave

There's nothing decent on any radio anyway.

I'd bring my iPod dock and iPod but somehow I doubt my heavy metal/thrash playlists would mesh well! ;-) Tony

Not to be *that* guy, but while I'm generally fine with most musical content (I draw the line at hard country and most hip-hop after about 1995), I find commercials maddening and disruptive to a party atmosphere. If anyone has a Spotify subscription, though... - Dave
Last I checked, we didn't have reliable Internet anywhere in the available buildings, so streaming Internet radio probably isn't going to work. I can bring my boom box - but it only plays cassettes. Which means that either someone will have to connect something to it, or listen to all of *my* music. Something tells me that musical tastes in our group differ far too much for this to go over well. Not to mention, there will likely be enough noise with the games going, and we really mostly have these events to talk to each other anyway. So, I dunno. Up to you guys. I can bring the boom box and a few boxes of tapes, or someone else can bring something (I hear they have ways of playing music using only ones and zeroes now. Not sure if I trust that), or we can just skip the music. -Ian On Fri, Dec 2, 2016 at 9:38 AM, David Riley via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

I mean, if we're going to be properly vintage, I have a turntable and a pile of Pink Floyd albums. No RIAA preamp, though. I generally tend to agree that no one is going to be satisfied with any particular choice, so I'd second the assertion that we let the melodious sound of our scintillating conversation be the music. Either that, or someone should at least be thematically appropriate and bring a PDP-8 to play some music on through an AM radio. - Dave
