I still often hear people say that they "video tape" something. Or "did you tape it" when referring to video recording tv shows, news coverage, etc. That terminology still persists when all video was recorded onto tape. But for these...For me anyway, it feels very different. My first reaction to reading this was "Of course...that's the proper term." But then I started to wonder why I felt that way. It was because I grew up with rotary phones and cars without power windows. Power windows in cars had, of course, been around since the 1940s and even prior, but those were in "rich people" cars, not mainstream stuff that many real people had. Perspective is interesting.
