Re: [vcf-midatlantic] Help me to understand this ebay auction
Since we started this list in 2005 or 6 or whatever it was we have had many threads that are fun/conversational AND on topic, such as rediculous Ebay auctions in the vintage computer hobby. Auctiins made my obviously non-hobbyists especially. Check the archives from yahoo if they still exist. You'll see these there. I doubt the occasiinal post about ebay auctions will break the list. Unfortunately commodore 64 posts are ignored by some in this list, not everyone is interested in 80s home computing, but dont let that stop you. This list gets x0% of the traffic it used to get, social media trimmed down traffic here. Bill On Wed, Jul 28, 2021, 9:28 AM Sentrytv via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
Good morning all
I do not wish to intentionally start something here, but...
I had seen some emails directed to all on this list about OFF TOPIC SUBJECTS.
I believe this qualifies as such a topic.
I like to poke fun and complain about eBay sellers also. (that’s why I never sell on eBay)
But enough already!
I must say that when I send emails that are on-topic, I receive little or no positive responses.
This concerns me to the point that some people on this list are not willing to help a person who has little knowledge about older and home made computer related items?
I do have to thank the few people who have helped me in the past with C64, monitor and Amiga issues!
I am disappointed in the lack of responses, though, considering the group that this is.
Yes I am on a rant, but it had to be said, eventually.
Thank you
Mike R.

Hahahahahhahahah Oh man, I didn't expect to see this here! This is a joke listing from a friend of mine. What you're seeing here is an intentionally garbage yard-find of a machine using many of the tropes typically found on out-of-touch ebay listings. The only thing it's missing is RARE, GOLD. -Alexander 'Z' Pierson On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, 12:08:53 AM EDT, Neil Cherry via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

That actually makes the most sense for that weirdness. $400 for shipping? After the care that's been taken of that thing.
