There is a vintage computer rental business in Trenton?
I didn't know this existed. https://www.karlbusinessmachines.com/vintage-computer-rentals.html
Holy cats. That gave me a flashback. Hey Dave Mcguire, that address seems awful familiar. Interestingly, I started VintageApparatus initially to provide display machines for movies, props, displays for companies, etc. But I started it in early 2020. Bad timing, huh? :). I haven't pursued it since the pandemic wrapped up. -d On Tue, Jul 18, 2023 at 9:50 AM Christian Liendo via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I saw these items on sale at an auction house last month. Exact same pictures. ________________________________ From: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic-bounces@lists.vcfed.org> on behalf of Dave Shevett via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2023 10:13 AM To: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Cc: Dave Shevett <shevett@pobox.com> Subject: Re: [vcf-midatlantic] There is a vintage computer rental business in Trenton? Yup, it is walking distance from where I used to live. Kinda weirded out by that. We at LSSM have been looking at that small ES/9000 system (pictured under the staircase), it has been listed on eBay for a long time. We can get that running; we have a similar system running now. -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA
I wonder if this is a good place to get re-inking kits for your vintage printer ribbons? I work fairly close to there I should go and check it out. Sent from: My extremely complicated, hand held electronic device.

Yes. I have been aware of this guy for a while. It's not a typical business as far as I know. He just sells items and has some in storage. He had called VCF to see if he could sell certain items at extremely high prices (IBM machines I recall). According to Connor he had tried to sell them at a high price on ebay about 2 years ago (?), then lowered it a few months ago, but still unsuccessful. I told Ryan Schiff about it, and he was going to try to explain to the guy that the prices were way too high. I don't know what happened after that. I just know that when I called the guy on the phone, I explained that we are a non-profit organization and a museum and we don't buy artifacts. We just accept donations. If anyone is interested in buying items from him, then let me know in a private email and I will give you his phone number. It's likely that he hasn't sold the items. I think he said he did work on repairing them so he was trying to get some of that money back in repairing them.
