Someone posted what looks like a BASIC program called Wordle from Creative Computing. https://twitter.com/katie_panda/status/1496607013589204998/photo/1
I believe its a modern distribution, delivered in a style resembling a Creative Computing layout. On Thu, Feb 24, 2022, 7:11 AM Christian Liendo via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I agree as I couldn't find the original. I am not a programmer so I cannot tell if the code is legit. But it would be cool if someone did make a 8bit BASIC Wordle. On Thu, Feb 24, 2022 at 7:50 AM Jeff S via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Yes. From the thread, it's a recreation page in the style of Creative Computing.
I am not a programmer so I cannot tell if the code is legit.
The code looks legit. The "MODE 0" indicates it's GW BASIC, but outside of that one instruction, the rest is generic BASIC with Microsoft-style substrings. The listing _is_ cut off, but the missing part is just the remaining couple thousand 5-letter words.
But it would be cool if someone did make a 8bit BASIC Wordle.
Here's one for the PET 4032 or 8032 (requires BASIC 4.0 I think - I haven't dug into it to check) http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/pet/games/english/petdle.d64.gz -ethan

Looks like someone made it for the C64: https://www.howtogeek.com/803710/you-can-play-wordle-on-your-commodore-64/

Looks like someone made it for the C64:
