Well apparently the DVRA club is having their “Swapmeet” on the 24th also.
Never heard of them nor their swap meet. They are not on the arrl.org website. The only thing that I had heard about Amateur Radio Hamfest in Fair Lawn which was on arrl.org and it was scheduled for the same day, but they have rescheduled to June 5. When the Steering Committee found out, they decided that we wouldn't move the date of our show and that people would choose for themselves if they wanted to do either or both. In any case, it is too late to change our dates, we have already advertised it everyone and have people lined up to come to it.
I am pretty sure they knew that VCF is having theirs on the 24th which is certainly not fair to have it the same day.
We sent out notice of our swap meet months ahead. If I had known about any other events, then I wouldn't have picked that date. We do the best we can not to conflict with anyone else, but we can't shift our dates around for everyone. We have to deal with our own schedules too.
At least they don’t have a rain date the next day. But the good part is that they are 45 miles away, approximately!
So people can do both if they choose.
So I doubt if anyone is going to be making a trip to both of the swapmeets on the same day.
I hope we’re not losing vendors and “customers” to them.
We will do fine. We have enough vendors and customers from your area and its growing.

The annual DVRA Hamfest was, back in the day, the next best thing to TCF. It was positively huge. I went every year throughout most of the 80s. -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA

I have been selling or buying at the DVRA hamfest for over 35 years (whenever it was scheduled) and alas it is a shell of its former self. It *was* a great hamfest. The last DVRA I was at was in a community park with about 20 vendors. So, I don't think it is of any real concern to the VCF swapmeet. just my 2 cents. Regards, Jeff Galinat .
I agree No worries I was just mentioning it. Sent from: My extremely complicated, hand held electronic device.

Hello! For a while the NYC Hall Of Science Amateur Radio group would throw theirs on a certain Sunday in October. That one was excellent with the best vendors, and I bought scads of electronic parts from a chap who was it seems cleaning out his basement. While he in no way resembled Herb, the methods behind his talents made me think of our resident everything else. One wasn't thrown last year for obvious reasons, but the one two years ago, was also a shell of its former self. They also canceled Field Day last year for the same reason, and I believe they did so this year, not knowing if it would be good enough to risk things. In fact for a while they would throw two, one in March before Field Day, and another much later in October. However, Dave there's a problem, one of the arriving Yeti in Blue Caps needs a very big amount of bandwidth and a very fast computer from the last century. ----- Gregg C Levine gregg.drwho8@gmail.com "This signature fought the Time Wars, time and again." Their club is small and their hamfest (swapmeet) is usually very small when they have one. I wouldn’t say to worry at all but I just wanted to make you aware. I was just saying it wasn’t fair because they should not have gone and made it on the same day! Sent from: My extremely complicated, hand held electronic device.
